Sienna Gold has reported the new drill hole results from the Callanquitas structure, which is located at the Igor project in Peru. The company drilled 1637.1 m, totaling five holes.
These holes were specifically designed for analyzing the Callanquitas structure’s main portions and its potential expansion towards the south. Mineralization was intersected by all drill holes at the estimated depths.
The company encountered 434.9 g/t silver and 0.994 g/t gold over 10.15 m, 1221.2 g/t silver and 2.541 g/t gold over 3.5 m, 2119 g/t silver and 4.227 g/t gold over 1.15 m in the hole CA-11-13.
According to Sienna Gold’s Director, Dr. Warren Pratt, the company is delighted with these first drilling results. High-grade and continued mineralization has been shown through surface sampling and drilling programs. The company has begun to recognize high-grade ore shoots, along with excellent grades of silver. The 10,000 m drilling has been specifically designed to outline a resource by the end of Q3, 2012. If more ore shoots are discovered, the program will be altered accordingly.
Currently, two drilling are operating on site. These rigs have drilled 3,300 m. A third rig will be on site during February, 2012, in order to complete drilling of around 10,000 m at Callanquitas structure and allow for a NI 43-101 compliant resource definition by the end of Q3, 2012.
