Scorpio Gold Announces Final Drill Program Results from Mineral Ridge Project

Scorpio Gold has reported the final results from the 2011 drill program conducted at the Mary Zone, which is situated towards the southwest part of the present mining program performed in the Drinkwater pit. This pit is located at the Mineral Ridge project, which is 70% owned by the company, in Nevada.

The CEO and President of Scorpio Gold, Peter J. Hawley stated that the drilling program of 2011 has outlined the final pit design’s mineralization level over the Mary zone. According to him, the drilling results validated the expansion of mineralized gold towards the southwestern part from the Mary zone to the Mary LC zone that covers 780 m of strike length, and the zone’s total thickness has been increased through the results. He said that the company has obtained all assay results from the drill program performed at the Mary Zone and included those assays in the complete database for a mine plan study and a NI 43-101-compliant mineral reserve and resource calculation, which are previously proposed. This study is expected to be completed in May 2012, according to him.

The company has encountered 6.81 g/t gold over 4.57 m and 0.99 g/t gold over 1.52 m in hole MR11340, 1.03 g/t gold over 1.52 m in hole MR11341, 1.05 g/t gold over 3.05 and 0.86 g/t gold over 1.52 m in hole MR11342, 0.75 g/t gold over 1.52 m in hole MR11346, 5.82 g/t gold over 6.10 m in hole MR11347, 0.96 g/t gold over 1.52 m in hole MR11348, and 0.91 g/t gold over 3.05 m in hole MR11351.

Nevada-based American Assay Laboratory (AAL) conducted the analytical program.
