Roxgold Announces Assay Results from Yaramoko Drilling Program

Roxgold announced that it has obtained the assay results for 21 holes from its Phase III Yaramoko drilling campaign performed at its Yaramoko property in Burkina Faso, Africa.

DD-070 and DD-074 drill holes have been previously reported. DD-013 hole is re-stated as 43.25 gpt gold over 3.0 m against prior reported 0.66 gpt gold over 3 m. This is attributed to delayed receipt of assay results. Actual thicknesses are based on present vein models and data. Drill holes DD-076, DD-080, DD-081, DD-088, and DD-110, did not return any major intercepts.

Phase III drilling targeted on extending the mineralization, specified by the 2011 drilling campaigns along strike and to depth. The assay from the deepest hole, YRM-DD-069 is counter-indicated by highly visible gold count. The company is re-assaying this zone as well as a number of other zones. Drill holes from YRM-DD-070 to YRM-DD-074 have linked the 35 Zone with the 55 Zone. The zone with an east west strike length of 900 m will be called as the 55 Zone.

Roxgold has started a deep drilling campaign to analyze the mineralization down dip with the initial hole targeting the projected vein at 1,000 m beneath the surface. Regional reconnaissance work with RC and RAB drilling is underway; however, core drilling follow up will be delayed till the assays from this work are obtained. As a result of assay congestion, only certain samples are being assayed from the drill holes. Once the samples from all the holes are assayed, further mineralized intercepts may be outlined.

So far, the company has received assays for 80 core holes that were drilled on the 55 Zone. Among these, 62 holes have delivered 81 intercepts with a typical thickness of 3.80 m and a weighted typical grade of 20.72 gpt gold.
