Lupaka Gold has declared that the company has resumed the drill program at the Crucero Gold project located in South Peru.
An 8,000 m of drilling program has been proposed to be conducted during 2012 and the company will immediately target the A-1 Zone resource extension. Lupaka has planned to carry out drilling for the first time on the A-5 Zone, A-4 Zone and A-3 Zone region located towards the eastern part of the present resource found at the A-1 Zone.
Final assays obtained from the 2011 drilling has indicated that the A-1 Zone mineralized envelope stays exposed and continues towards the northern part. The company has not outlined the A-1 resource’s north limit.
Currently, the company has proposed an 8,000 m of diamond core drill program for 2012, together with resource extension for 4,000 m on the A-1 Zone, and exploration for 4,000 m on other anomalies discovered in the property area. Primarily, an 11,000 m drilling campaign had been planned for 2012. Due to the extension of the rainy season, the drill program was postponed for six weeks.
The A-3, A-4 and A-5 zone areas are the priority exploration targets, which are located around 2 km towards the eastern part of the A-1 Zone. Wide field geological studies have been planned to carry out all 10 other popular exploration anomalies of the project, which includes stream and soil sediment sampling and outcrop and structural mapping as well as geophysical surveys. Based on this field work results, the company has planned to perform exploration drilling on those three zones during Q3 of 2012.
