Lupaka Gold has reported that it is continuing its 8,000 m drill campaign at the company’s Crucero gold project located in South Peru.
Drill holes
Currently, the company has two diamond drilling core rigs operating at the Crucero Gold project, and has drilled four holes, DDH-19, DDH-53, DDH-54 and DDH-55, totaling about 1500 m as the 2012 drill season started in late May.
The first hole out of four was drilled to examine the resource located at depth in the A-1 Zone’s southwestern part, while the other holes were specifically drilled to analyze the present A-1 mineralized envelope’s north expansion. Currently, the company is drilling this season’s fifth and sixth holes and will examine depth and north expansions of the A-1 mineralized envelope.
The company is continuing a comprehensive exploration and geology field work at the Chaska zone, including A-3, A-4 and A-5 zones, in order to discover high-priority drill target areas in that region. A third drilling rig has been engaged and is being mobilized to the Chaska zone. Drill program may start on the Chaska zone by mid-August, 2012. Lupaka Gold intends to drill about 4,000 m for A-1 resource extension and 4,000 m on further target areas, commencing with the Chaska Zone.
Four fresh composite metallurgical samples have been selected based on the internal Whittle pit results for the metallurgical testing campaign of 2012. These four composites are located within the Whittle pit shell, and denote the metallurgical features that have been discovered in the mineralized envelope. Results from the metallurgical test program may become available before this year end.
