BCGold declared that it has mobilized work crews at its WS and Off-White Gold properties and South Quesnel properties. The company will use the combined exploration budget of $200,000 for these projects. Work crews will be working at the properties till late August.
The company completed infill mobile metal ion (MMI) soil sampling surveys at four of its South Quesnel properties, which include the Rayfield, Lauder Creek, Dartt Lake and Clear Range properties. The soil sampling surveys were specifically designed to conduct infill and additionally outline gold-copper soil anomalies, identified in 2010 generative exploration program. Copper-gold soil anomalies, which are loosely defined, are present in all the four properties. Tightly spaced infill soil sampling program was completed by work crew in order to develop the anomalies towards the drill-ready phase.
BCGold acquired nine properties located in the South Quesnel area that focuses on blind porphyry gold-copper deposits. The properties cover several coincident geophysical and geochemical anomalies, which were discovered in Geoscience BC's QUEST-South dataset. The company’s grid-scale MMI soil surveys carried out at the properties during 2011 defined four soil anomalies, containing copper and gold. The 2012 follow-up exploration focuses on the four anomalies, which are exposed in various directions.
The company has started a tightly spaced biogeochemical and soil orientation survey on the WS property. This orientation survey is being performed at the area, where BCGold drilled previously and intercepted the Zone '14' level of the Carmacks Copper deposit. The company encountered 0.34% copper over 23.6 m and 0.17% copper over 63.1 m in hole WS08-09B. The present orientation survey is specifically designed for analyzing alternative geochemical processes to improve the previous MMI soil sampling campaign results and to refine drilling target areas along linear induced-polarity (IP) geophysical anomaly.
BCGold will begin soil sampling, geological mapping and prospecting at the Off-White Gold property by June end. This exploration is specifically designed to study the possible bedrock source for angular and coarse-grained gold nuggets found during local placer mine workings.
