Silver Mountain Mines, a Canada-based exploration and development firm, has begun a 3,200 m diamond drill campaign, totaling about 29 holes, at the Ptarmigan property located in the southeastern part of British Columbia.
The area of the property is 9,287 ha and is situated in the Purcell Mountains, which contains rich mineralization in South Canadian Cordillera. Huge amount of documented MINFILE exists in the property area and these mineral ranges from mineralized showings to former producing mines, which include the previous Blue Bell, Mineral King, Paradise and Ptarmigan mines.
Infill drill program is being carried out in the Ptarmigan mine, east Ptarmigan and upper Ptarmigan zones with the help of a diamond drill rig. Formerly, the company has discovered manto-style mineralization and polymetallic veins in those Ptarmigan mine zones. Then, the drilling rig will be mobilized towards the Iron Cap zones and North Ridge west vein where Silver Mountain expects to carry out the exploratory drill program. The company will additionally perform mapping and sampling campaigns in chosen regions and will conduct geochemistry in the Iron Cap and Law Creek regions.
Silver Mountain Mines has 100% ownership in a 9,200 ha property that is located in the middle of the historical Ptarmigan Mine, which is rich in silver, in Southeast BC. High-grade, silver-rich polymetallic epithermal veins and manto-style semi-massive or massive mineralized sulphide are the two styles of mineralization contained in the property.
