Integra Gold has announced that it has released the last assay results from the drill program carried out at the Vein No. 6 zone, located at the Lamaque project in Quebec, during early 2012.
The Vein No. 6 2012 drilling program
The Vein No. 6 target lies about 600 m towards the western part of the previous Lamaque mine main plug. This plug produced gold of more than 3.6 Moz and was an extension of the Lamaque or Sigma complex that produced more than 9 Moz of gold.
The company encountered 17.18 g/t gold over 2 m, 13.04 g/t gold over 2 m, and 18.25 g/t gold over 1 m. The Vein No. 6 stays exposed at depth and in lateral direction. Integra Gold drilled 12 holes, totaling 3,980 m on this target as part of this year’s 30,000 m program during the spring season. The program’s main aim is to follow-up on intercepts announced last year, at depth and laterally, including 5.51 g/t gold over 5 m and 8.32 g/t gold over 2 m.
The latest drill results obtained do not belong to the 20,000 m program of 2012 completed approximately at the No. 4 Plug, a high-priority target. The company is expecting additional results from the current program conducted at the No. 4 Plug in the future, which includes 111 g/t gold over 6 m and 945 g/t gold over 1 m.
The Vein No. 6 target has calculated a strike length of 250 m toward east-west direction, expanding towards a depth of up to 350 m vertically. Mineralized gold is present in two predominant types of vein. The stacked veins are housed by a sequence of huge dacite/andesite and lapilli/crystal tuffs together with many feldspar porphyry dykes, which is a geological setting analogous to certain gold-bearing zones. Veins mainly contain carbonate-quartz along with fewer amounts of chlorite and tourmaline.
