Golden Reign Resources, a mineral exploration firm, has announced assay results from further underground trenching and channel sampling programs carried out at Mina Francisco, which is situated in the San Albino-Murra gold property’s Southern District, Nicaragua.
Mina Francisco lies midway between the highly potential Conchitas region and San Albino Mine area. The company historically performed very limited work at Mina Francisco.
Golden Reign started the restoration process of the mine adit that yielded exceptional drilling results in August 2012. When the excavation of the trench SAM12-TR-07 was conducted, the adit’s second entrance was identified and allowed the company to thoroughly sample the shallow Mina Francisco vein, which remains open for a strike length of 12 m and down-dip of 7 m at 5 m depth from surface.
The company gathered 35 underground channel samples over a strike length of 12 m long and intersected 42.8 g/t silver and 33.35 g/t gold over 2.0 m, 30.7 g/t silver and 26.45 g/t gold over 2.0 m; and 40.8 g/t silver and 23.87 g/t gold over 2.0 m.
The best interval identified from the trench SAM-12-TR-07 yielded 12.6 g/t silver and 4.28 g/t gold over 8.0 m, including 18.0 g/t silver and 3.29 g/t gold over 4.0 m; and 7.3 g/t silver and 5.28 g/t gold over 4.0 m.
SAM-12-TR-08, a second trench intersected another parallel mineralized vein that is about 20 cm thick and returned 11.1 g/t silver and 4.52 g/t gold over 1.0 m. Host rock sampling, which includes quartz veinlets, yielded 6.5 g/t silver and 7.44 g/t gold over 2.0 m, 10.4 g/t silver and 14.32 g/t gold. Mineralization that mainly comprises arsenopyrite, galena, free gold and sphalerite is found in the surrounding schists and quartz vein.
