Amlib Holdings Plc announces that the Phase 1 drilling on the Ferra Project within the north-western portion of the Kle Kle Mineral Development Agreement has now been completed and all assay results received.
The Ferra prospect is located approximately 1km west of the Yeama project (see News Release 17/12/12) where an initial resource is currently being calculated by Independent Consultants RPA.
The Phase 1 drill programme was conducted to intersect below anomalous surface soil and trench values in order to determine the setting, structural control and host lithologies to the surface mineralisation as well as proving continuity of anomalous gold values.
A total of 2,039 metres of drilling was completed in 14 drillholes (KKF053 to KKF055 and KKF062 to KKF072).
The controls to the mineralisation are currently being studied with petrographic and 3D structural interpretation ongoing. Interpretation at the present time suggests the gold is related to a low angle structural/fracture zone that has undergone a secondary deformational event.
The host to the mineralisation is variable being mainly within metamorphosed andesitic units (schists and gneisses) in close association with mafic/ultramafic pyroxenite units. The gold is associated with an increase in sulphides, pyrite, pyrrohitite and arsenopyrite.
