Auriga Gold has intersected parallel zones of high-grade mineralization continuously at the Maverick Gold Project. The company cuts 30.44 g/t gold over 2.0 meters and 9.19 g/t over 2.0 meters.
The project is situated 65 km northeast of Flin Flon, Manitoba, which also incorporates the Puffy Lake Mine and the neighboring Nokomis Property.
Drilling at Puffy Lake Mine has come across high-grade gold mineralization continuously. The company is focusing on drilling to confirm and expand the current resources. The company has a chance to begin a mine development plan at the Maverick Gold Project due to its excellent position and infrastructure.
The phase I confirmation drilling started in December 2010 and the diamond drill holes A3-02, 04, 07, 09 and 12 are part of it and received assays for the second set of holes. All these five drill holes have intercepted gold mineralization linked with quartz veins and silicification in the host rocks. This drilling proves the presence of numerous parallel gold mineralized zones that dip toward the northeast.
The Phase 1 program comprises 15 holes, 3,350 meter drilling to verify historical gold resources at the Puffy Lake Mine. Recently, the company finished Phase 1 drilling and awaiting the results of the remaining seven holes. The Phase II drilling program consists of 32 planned drill holes, depth of 1,600 meters in total to analyze the potential of low open pit mining. The company has completed eight holes totaling 326 meters of the Phase II program and is waiting for assays.
