Auriga Gold has announced encouraging drilling results from Maverick gold project, which contains a second set of Phase 2 drilling results to analyze near-surface gold mineralization. The location of Maverick gold project is 65 km northeast of Flin Flon in Manitoba.
This comprises the historically producing Puffy Lake mine and on-site mill, the contiguous Nokomis property, and newly staked mining claims that covers 6,640 hectares in total.
The company has drilled the present holes A3-24 to A3-28 and former holes A3-16 to A3-23 at Puffy Lake deposit to examine the near surface gold mineralization, which is about 300 metres southeast of the mine. Auriga has cut 2.7 meters averaging 5.08 g/t gold over 30.9 meters in hole A3-24, 5.0 metres averaging 6.59 g/t gold over 8.20 metres in hole A3-16.
This drilling results is used to upgrade the past resources and create near-surface gold resources, which will possibly help for a quick recommencent of the historic producing mine.
Auriga Gold has completed Phase I drilling at Puffy Lake mine to substantiate historic gold resources and results of the remaining six holes are awaited. The Phase II drilling consists of 32 proposed holes totaling 1,600 meters to examine the prospective of shallow open pit mining of the mineralized structure.
