Auriga Gold Releases Final Summer Drilling Results from Maverick Gold Project

Auriga Gold has announced the final results of the summer 2011 drill campaign conducted at its Maverick gold project. The new results found identical high-grade mineralized gold like the Puffy Lake deposit and authenticated the prospect of extending the current resources on strike. These final results have shown the discovery potential of fresh resources outside the Puffy Lake deposit along the mineralized trend of more than 20 km at the property.

The goal of the recent drilling was to examine the mineralization strike continuity and its orientation at the Puffy Lake. It has validated the fresh targets at the larger property for this winter follow-up drill program. The location of this Maverick gold project is 65 km to the northeast part of Flin Flon in Manitoba. This project has included the on-site mill and the Puffy Lake mine, nearby Nokomis property, and newly acquired mining claims.

The company is continuing to show the mineralized gold on strike in the holes A3-42 and 43 at the Puffy Lake deposit’s north portion, including 9.93 g/t gold over 0.94 m in the hole A3-43. Hole A3-48 has returned 23.68 g/t gold over 0.50 m at the mineralized horizon of 2 km located towards the Puffy lake deposit’s southwest part. The shallow holes A3-51 to A3-63 has extended the near-surface mineralization in the Puffy Lake deposit’s Sherridon starter pit region. The company intersected 3.72 g/t gold over 4.35 m in the hole A3-60.

Auriga drilled the holes A3-44, 45, 46 in order to examine the north expansion of the shallow mineralization, though mineralized gold was cut only in the hole A3-45. The company has drilled the holes A3-55 to 58 in the Sherridon Pit region, which did not cut any considerable mineralization. It has not drilled the hole A3-47.

The company’s drilling at the project will go on during the winter season with the aim of extending and upgrading the current NI 43-101 resources. Auriga has scheduled a 1,500 m drill at the Nokomis deposit.
