Riverstone Resources has announced further results from the current diamond drilling program at the Kao zone.
This zone forms a part of the Karma gold deposit in Burkina Faso, West Africa. The company has intersected 2.14 g/t gold over 16 m, 1.13 g/t gold over 58 m, 2.46 g/t gold over 6 m and 1.14 g/t gold over 22 m. The plan of the drilling program at Kao zone is to examine the mineralized zones that are down dip and to the east of the current resource. These drilling results authenticate the mineralized zone extensions up to 150 m to the east over the present resource and stay open for expansion.
The CEO and President of the company, has stated that this drilling has returned positive results. Riverstone has confirmed the occurrence of high-grade mineralization down dip and below the current resource. The drilling program can considerably increase the resource along the strike to the northeast, wherein the deposit stays open in the shallow oxide material with down dip and drilling deeper.
The Kao deposit forms a part of the Karma project that includes a NI 43-101 compliant resource having 1.10 g/t gold grading in 810,600 oz of gold in 22,845,000 t as indicated resource and 0.79 g/t gold grading in 1,119,100 oz of gold in 44,100,000 t as inferred resource. As the resource was evaluated in February 2011, Riverstone has additionally drilled 37,000 m and is expecting that the drilling results will be added to the resource.
Burkina Faso-based Abilab Burkina SARL laboratories assayed all the core samples by means of standard fire assay along with atomic absorption methods.
