Concordia Resource, a junior exploration firm, has announced that all results have been obtained from the phase II drill program performed at the Kerboulé project, located in North Burkina Faso.
The company drilled 3,388 m of core drill and 10,367 m of reverse circulation (RC) drill programs in the Kerboulé region. These programs were included in the 2012 phase II drill campaign.
Concordia intersected 2.39 g/t gold over 20 m in hole KBS-RC-005; 7.43 g/t gold over 29 m in hole KBS-RC-010; 1.27 g/t gold over 23 m in hole KBS-RC-012; 1.94 g/t gold over 40 m in hole KBS-RC-013; 3.95 g/t gold over 38 m in hole KB-DD-005; 4.0 g/t gold over 29 m in hole KB-RC-010; and 15.79 g/t gold over 4 m in hole YAL-RC-001.
The company drilled six regions within the 5 km Yaléma-Kerboulé mineralization trend, validating and expanding the popular mineralization at Yaléma, Kerboulé South, Kerboulé North and Kerboulé Main. Additional work is essential in this region in order to discover the source for the artisanal works in Yaléma East considering the inconclusive results obtained till date.
Limited drilling was conducted on fresh geophysical anomalies. The company has discovered a fresh mineralization area at 'Kerboulé Village South East'. These drilled results are important, as it validates mineralization over an extensive zone than the popular Kerboulé-Yaléma trend.
Mineralized gold in the Kerboulé region includes predominant and distinct stockwork zones in sheared lithological contacts. The mineralization exists in tubular bodies that lie sub-parallel towards the key foliation fabric, called the Inata-Kerboulé shear zone. The company specifically designed this year’s drill campaign in order to outline a first mineral resource at Kerboulé Main, Kerboulé North, and Kerboulé South.
